What is a Stress Test?

A stress test is a standard screening aimed at evaluating your overall cardiac health. As well as diagnosing severe arterial blockages, stress tests will create a baseline of cardiac function. Stress checks will track the heart rate using an electrocardiogram (EKG) unit. Most patients will not require stress tests on a regular basis. Stress tests should not be painful. However, you will be required to have small electrodes attached to your body.
