Types of Illness in Our Urgent Care Clinics.

A cough is supposed to protect you. It gets out stuff that doesn’t belong in your lungs and windpipe, like inhaled dirt or food. Colds and the flu are the most common causes.

Eye and Ear Infections

Symptoms and signs of an eye or ear infection might indicate numerous conditions. An adult with a discharge out of the ear or ear pain should get an accurate diagnosis followed by prompt treatment.

Internal bleeding can be dangerous especially if it’s not treated quickly after the crash. It’s important to seek medical attention immediately for anything but the most minor accidents.

Nausea and Vomiting

Nausea and vomiting are not diseases, it is usually harmless, but it can be a sign of a more serious illness. It may result in concussions, meningitis and dehydration for which you should seek an urgent care.

Cold and Flu

The common cold, including chest cold and head cold, and seasonal flu are caused by viruses. We use over-the-counter cold medications to relieve symptoms.

Bronchitis is an infection of the main airways of the lungs (bronchi), causing them to become irritated and inflamed. It may also cause a sore throat, cough that may bring up yellow-grey mucus and wheezing.

Just like you can break a bone in a car crash. A herniated disc occurs when one or more vertebrae in your spine either rupture or shift out of place. A herniated disc can cause pain and complications.

Diarrhea happens because of a virus that gets into our gut usually known as “stomach flu”. Diarrhea causes watery stools and if it occurs more than three times a day, that can be a serious problem if it’s not treated timely.

Benefits of Urgent Care.

Urgent care physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants can provide high-quality medical services for patients.

Urgent care provides another place for people to go for quality care, rather than everyone running to the same place.

Type of Care

Four in every five urgent care centers even provide fracture care! With that many services available, there is no reason to rush straight to an ER.

Price Matters

It’s cost-effective to skip the ER as well. Offering physical therapy and check-ups, urgent care can save hundreds of dollars off the cost of care.

You may actually get care faster by going to an urgent care clinic. So if you need care quickly, urgent care will likely be a better bet!

Does insurance cover urgent care services?

Nearly all health insurance plans will cover at least a portion of your urgent care visit. Most patients will be required to pay a nominal co-pay fee, which is typically comparable or less than a standard doctor’s office visit. At Express Healthcare, we are dedicated to providing the important medical services our patients need in a convenient office with affordable pricing. We know how important the care we provide is for families in our communities, so our goal is to provide effective care that is accessible for as many people as possible.

How much will my urgent care visit cost me?

The total cost of your urgent care appointment will depend on which services you decide to take advantage of. On average, an appointment with one of the doctors at Express Healthcare will cost much less than a trip to the emergency room for non-life-threatening care, which makes it a cost-effective option for families in Maryland seeking important medical intervention and compassionate care. Our helpful and dedicated staff are happy to answer any questions you may have about your out-of-pocket costs. We accept most major insurance providers and offer transparent self-pay pricing for patients without insurance, or whose insurance we do not accept.

Can you treat my injury?

At Express Healthcare, we proudly offer treatment for many minor injuries. We can even provide stitching and suturing onsite. We proudly offer x-rays, ultrasounds, and sonograms for diagnostic purposes, and can treat lacerations, cuts, and abrasions, minor eye injuries, as well as minor fractures, strains, and sprains. If your injury is not life-threatening, we can provide the care you need to heal effectively without a costly or time-consuming visit to the emergency room.
